Abstract

The virtual patient interview simulation program was developed using the PDCA process to ensure standardized and efficient development. The objectives were twofold: 1) developing a virtual patient interview simulation program, and 2) evaluating the programís effectiveness and user satisfaction. The study involved 1,147 medical students from year one to six, some with prior experience in real patient interviews and some without, to assess their perceived effectiveness of and satisfaction with the program after participating in it. Of those students, 398 medical students participated in the evaluation. The programís design, utility, and functionality were rated highly (x̄=3.81, S.D.=0.84). Overall satisfaction with the program, including its modernity and usability, was also rated highly (x̄=4.08, S.D.=0.79). These findings reflect the programís ability to support student learning, enhance confidence and prepare students for real-world scenarios. The program allows for repeated learning and practice as needed, aligning contemporary educational demands. The program also demonstrates potential for further development to support high-quality and modern learning experiences.
