Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic article presents approaches for managing instruction in the area of creative research in music, based on lessons learned from the western music program at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University. The design of instruction considers psychological factors influencing musical creativity, including the musical creative process, knowledge base, referent, and other factors. The approaches include: 1) Instructional objectives, focused on enabling students to create interesting and professionally or academically beneficial musical works. This involves disseminating knowledge to the public, both in the form of musical performances and in research reports; 2) Content and instructional processes, which cover principles for preparing the students' knowledge base, overseeing adherence to academic standards, and fostering creative processes; 3) Learning resources, which includes databases and search systems for creative research in music, as well as websites and forms for submitting works; and 4) Assessment, divided into formative assessments of progress providing feedback at every important stage, and summative assessments using connoisseurship methods by all faculty members in the program. The conclusion of this article proposes an instructional approach that encourages students to develop creativity while maintaining academic standards in music. This is achieved by designing a systematic learning process that considers the learners' context.
