The purposes of this research were 1) to examine the current and the desirable state of the development of a research-based local science learning curriculum of enrichment program of Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Environment (SMTE) in the northeast region. 2) to examine priorities of the need to development of a research-based local science learning curriculum of enrichment program of Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Environment (SMTE) in the northeast region. This study used a survey research methodology. The samples selected using purposive sampling were schools of Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Environment Special Classroom Projects In the Northeast, there are 9 schools, 6 people each, consisting of 1 school director, 1 deputy school director, 1 teacher in the science and technology learning group, 1 school committee, 1 parent network. 1 person and 1 student studying in grades 4-6, with a total of 54 informants. Current and desirable states questionnaires were used as a tool to collect data. Frequency, percentage, mean/average, standard deviation, and PNImodified were used to analyze the collected data.
The results of the research were as follows: 1) the current state and the objectives of the development of local science curriculum development by using research as the basis of the science, mathematics, technology, and environment special classroom project; Overall, they were at a high level, respectively. 2) The priority needs an index of developing a research-based local science learning curriculum. The most needed aspect was the development of the local science curriculum and course content (PNImodified = 0.210). The second priority needs index was research-based learning (PNImodified = 0.048), Measurement and evaluation of learning outcomes in local science learning management using research-based (PNImodified = 0.048), Knowledge and skill utilization (PNImodified = 0.042), The use of media, setting up an environment and learning resources conducive to the management of local science learning using research-based (PNImodified = 0.029), and The ability to create science innovation for local development (PNImodified = 0.021).
