Abstract
This research aimed to study the level of morality and ethics among students at Khonkaen Wittayalai School and explore guidelines for developing morality and ethics among students at Khonkaen Wittayalai School. The study employed quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. The research sample consisted of 119 participants, including administrators, teachers, staff, basic education institution committees, and parents of students at Khonkaen Wittayalai School in the academic year 2024. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument, and data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation and focus group discussions. Additionally, structured interviews were conducted with
9 experts experienced in promoting morality and ethics. Data were analyzed using content analysis.
The research findings revealed that : 1) The overall level of morality and ethics among students at Khonkaen Wittayalai School was high. When considering each dimension, the highest mean score was in the dimension of gratitude, followed by frugality, kindness, honesty, and discipline. The lowest mean score was in the dimension of responsibility. 2) The guidelines to develop the morality and ethics of students at Khonkaen Wittayalai School include: (1) For discipline, the school should establish a mutual agreement on discipline regarding adherence to school rules and regulations. (2) For honesty, the school should cultivate a sense of honesty among students by preventing theft and cheating. (3) For gratitude, the school should organize gratitude activities for Gratitude Day, such as showing respect to teachers, parents, and other benefactors, and encouraging students to repay their gratitude by being committed to their studies. (4) For responsibility, the school should instill in students a sense of responsibility for assigned tasks, encouraging focus, dedication, and accountability for their duties, including the courage to admit mistakes when they occur. (5) For frugality, the school should promote the value and benefits of saving and establish a school bank project.
(6) For kindness, the school should organize community service activities, volunteerism, and foster a spirit of sharing and kindness towards others.
