Guidelines for Developing Happy Schools Based on UNESCO’s Framework Wat Samrong School under The Nonthaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the degree of success and important conditions for developing Wat Samrong School (Hirunratrphakdi Wittaya) into a "Happy School" based on the UNESCO concept, and 2) propose guidelines for development of Happy School, following the same concept. The study involved 32 participants, including school administrators and teachers, along with five experts. The tools were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the priority needs index (PNImodified), and content analysis.
The results of this research were as follows: 1) The degree of success conditions for developing the school into a Happy School were rated at a moderate level overall, while the important conditions were rated at a high level. The highest priority need index was for the place, followed by the process and people, respectively. 2) The proposed development guidelines include principles, objectives, guidelines, and conditions for success. The four key principles are Justice, positive psychology, flexibility, and well-being, with the objective of transforming the school into a Happy School. The development guidelines were focus on three areas: place, process, and people. The conditions for success include community involvement, leadership of administrators, resources for work, and shared organizational values.
