The Improving of Chinese Speaking Skills using Role-Play Activities for Chinese Teaching Major Students, Faculty of Education, Rajabhat Maha sarakham University

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to 1) improve Learning Activities of Chinese Speaking Skills using Role-Play activities with the efficiency of 80/80 criteria, 2) compare Chinese Speaking Skills using Role-Play Activities after learning with the 80 percent criterion, and 3) study the student’s satisfaction toward Chinese Speaking Skills’ learning Activities using Role-Play activities. The sample of this research consisted of 28 the first-year students from group 1, Chinese Teaching Major, Faculty of Education, Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University, who enrolled in the course of Chinese listening and speaking II (1034105) in the second semester of academic year 2022.
          The research instruments were 1) lesson plans, 2) Chinese speaking Skills Tests and 3) student’s satisfaction questionnaires. The data was analyzed using the percentage, mean, standard deviation and One Sample t-test. The results of the research were as follows: 1) Learning Activities of Chinese Speaking Skills using Role-Play Activities had efficiency of 85.57/86.25 with the 80/80 criteria, 2) The Chinese speaking skills of the students after studying through Role-Play Activities were at 86.25 percentage, which higher than the 80 percentage with statistical significance of .01 level, and 3) the satisfaction of the students with Role-Play Activities in Chinese speaking skills was overall at the highest level.
