THE PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MANAGEMENT TO DEVELOP DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF SCHOOLS UNDER LOEI MUNICIPALITY, LOEI PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: to study the conditions, to compare and to present the problem-based learning management to develop desirable characteristics of junior high school students of schools under Loei Municipality, Loei Province. This study was carried out by means of the mixed methods research: quantitative and qualitative. The samples included 255 Junior High School Students of Schools under Loei Municipality, Loei Province and the target group included 15 of administrators and teachers. The tools used in the research were: a questionnaire and an interview form. The statistics used for data analysis were: Frequency, Percentage, Standard Deviation, t-test (independent) and F-test. The qualitative data were interpreted by the descriptive analysis.
The research results were as follows:
1. The problem-based learning management to develop desirable characteristics of junior high school students of schools under Loei Municipality, Loei Province in overall was statistically rated at a high level in all eight studied aspects.
2. The comparison of problem-based learning management to develop desirable characteristics of junior high school students of schools under Loei Municipality, Loei Province, classified by the samples’ gender, age and class showed difference with the statistical significance level of 0.05. This accepted the set hypothesis.
3. The guideline of the problem-based learning management to develop desirable characteristics of junior high school students of schools under Loei Municipality, Loei Province in all eight aspects is that students who have gone through a problem-based learning management process by their teacher must be the one who has the royalty in nation, religion and king, is honest, disciplined, and desirable in learning, lives sufficiently, is committed to work, loves being Thai, has a public mind, and can apply desirable traits to their daily lives through socialization in order to live in a peaceful society.
