Abstract

The aim of this research is threefold: 1) to study the problems in teaching and learning management 2) to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of learning materials on plastic injection molds using augmented reality technology, and 3) to compare students' learning achievements against the set criteria. The sample group consisted of 32 vocational certificate students in the industrial field and was selected through cluster random sampling. Data collection tools included: 1) an instructional problem report form, 2) a storyboard design recording, 3) augmented reality (AR) learning materials, 4) an appropriateness evaluation form with content validity scores ranging from 0.60 to 1.00 and 5) a learning achievement test with an index of item-objective congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.60 to 1.00, discrimination indices ranging from 0.36 to 0.73, difficulty levels ranging from 0.41 to 0.73, and a reliability coefficient of 0.92 for the entire test. Data analysis included content analysis, mean scores, standard deviations, and a one ñsample t-test. A study of students' low academic achievement identified the lack of learning support materials as a key contributing factor. Consequently, research and development were conducted. The results indicated that the overall appropriateness of the AR learning materials were rated as highly appropriate overall (x̄=4.79, S.D.=0.05). The efficiency of the AR learning material exceeded the predetermined 80/80 standard, and the comparison of students' learning achievement after using the augmented reality learning materials was significantly higher than the 80% criterion at the 0.05 level.
