Abstract
This academic article examines the Postmodern Characteristics Appearing in Movie Entitled “Khun Phaen Begins”. The results of the study revealed 4 postmodern characteristics: 1) intertextuality, intertextualities were apparent in news and social situations. 2) Teasing, Parodying traditions in another movie and phenomena occurring in society. 3) Mixing reality with magic, Fantasy is used to mix in the story to make it fun. 4) Use of popular literary forms, The film ‘Khun Phaen Begins’ is a fantasy comedy film that is easily accessible to the audience. It relies on the format and genre of film as a vehicle to carry ideas to the audience. From the characteristics of such modernity, it can be seen that the movie ‘Khun Phaen Begins’ is a film that joins the socio-cultural trend and post-modernity and it is a film that critiques the post-modern condition in an outstanding and interesting way.
