A STUDY ROLES ON BUDDHIST PROPAGATION OF PHRAKHRU PANYAWUTHISUNTHORN (KUN PAÑÑÃVUDDHO)

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis are to study life and works of, and to study roles on religious studies, special education, public assistance, and community welfare. The research methodology was done by studying Tipitaka, commentaries, research documents, and interview of monks and laymen. Data analysis and summary were presented by description.  The results are found as follows:

    Life and works of Phrakhru Pannawuthisunthorn (Kun  Pannavuddho) was found that; he has tried his best to develop the community lives in various ways with the help of the Buddha’s teachings. His roles in developing the community comprises of (1) governing (2) propagation (3) education (4) welfare (5) public assistance and (6) environmental Conservation.

    The roles on religious studies and special education were found that;  on religious studies, Phrakhru Pannawuthisunthorn (Kun  Pannavuddho) helped to develop those who lacked of education chances by educated them in Buddhism i.e. Dhamma studies, Pali studies, and Buddhist Sunday School. Besides, he gave scholarship to the students and the poor; on special education, he supported in construction of learning building and presented learning aids to school of the community.

    The roles of public help and community assistance were found that; on public help, Phrakhru Pannawuthisunthorn (Kun  Pannavuddho) had restored Wat Saengburapha which was established more than 100 years ago. He also offered religious belongings to different Wats within Sawai Sub-district; on community assistance, he supported community by providing various types of public utility, persuaded people to protect water and forest and grew the trees.
