HISTORICAL STUDY AND TOURISM ACTIVITIES AT PRASAT KHMER COMMUNITY IN SURIN PROVINCE

Abstract

Research on “Study of the history and tourism activities of the Prasat Khom community in Surin province” has the following objectives: 1) To study the history of the Prasat Khom community in Surin province. 2) To study the tourism activities of the Prasat Khom community in Surin province. 3) To study tourism management of the Prasat Khom community in Surin Province. This research is a qualitative research, in-depth interviews with 26 people involved in the Prasat Khom community. By studying relevant documents, data were collected and the data was analyzed descriptively. The research results found that 1. History of the Prasat Khom community in Surin Province From archaeological evidence unearthed in the area of Surin Province, many ancient civilization sites of late Metal Age communities have been found, showing prosperity in arts, architecture, culture, religion, economy, and government, and the oldest and most extensive stone castles. From the study, it was found that there are only 12 Prasat Khom sites where local administrative organizations, the private sector, and communities support tourism activities in the Prasat Khom area. It is popularly organized in the form of sacrificing sacred things. and a light and sound show telling the history and legends about Khmer castles in each area. and can expand activities in the area and create an economy in the community 3. Tourism management of the Prasat Khom community in Surin Province. Local government agencies that have the capacity to help with maintenance and can come to help with the initial management to take care of the Prasat Khom area in Surin Province therefore. There are only a few Khmer temples that have the potential to be leading tourist attractions in the province with tourism facilities. Services in the castle area, etc., if further developed, will gain the attention of specific groups of tourists who are interested in Khmer castles. This group of tourists is a specific group with a small number.
