DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN PRAYAI KHUEANGNAI CAMPUS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATION SERVICE AREA OFFICE UBON RATCHATHANI AMNAT CHAROEN

Abstract

This Article aimed 1) to study the digital citizenship of school administrators in Prayai Khueangnai Campus under the Secondary Education Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani Amnat Charoen, and 2) to study recommendations for development of the digital citizenship of school administrators in Prayai Khueangnai Campus under the Secondary Education Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani Amnat Charoen. The sample was 131 administrators and teachers, however returned questionnaires were 129 copies which, equaling 98.47 percent. The research tool was a five-level rating scale questionnaire and open-ended questions with discrimination values between .48-.79 and a reliability of .97. The statistics included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The findings were as follows:

1. The digital citizenship of school administrators in total and in each aspects were at high levels, ranking as digital communication and digital law, and the lowest mean score was digital rights and responsibilities.
2. The critical recommendations to develop the digital citizenship of school administrators in the following aspects were: 1) Digital Communication: Administrators should have skills in listening, speaking, and writing to communicate efficiently and have the ability to persuade others to work by using clear communication skills. 2) Digital Literacy: administrators should encourage teachers and educational personnel to critically evaluate the contents and sources of digital media according to the value of democratic citizenship. 3) Regarding digital rights and responsibilities: administrators should inspire teachers and educational personnel to identify messages or acts that were copyright infringement or defamation of others. and 4) Digital Access: administrators should provide students opportunities to use digital access, tools, and quality learning resources.
