Analysis of Farmer’s knowledge management patterns in organic agriculture

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) investigate the current state of farmers' organic farming knowledge management, 2) develop a model of farmers' organic farming knowledge management, and 3) evaluate the farmers' organic farming knowledge management model. The study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods and was separated into three stages: Step 1: Investigate the state and issues with farmers' organic farming knowledge management by reviewing reference documents and conducting in-depth interviews with specialists with knowledge and experience in organic farming, 15 of whom were specifically chosen. Step 2: Using the Delphi technique, create a model of farmers' organic farming knowledge management over three rounds by soliciting the opinions of 17 experts with knowledge, expertise, and experience in organic farming who were purposefully selected. Step 3: Evaluate the farmers’ organic farming knowledge management model. The instruments used included an interview form and a questionnaire. The statistics used were mean, standard deviation, median, and interquartile range.

              The results of the research found that:

1. The findings of the research examining the state of knowledge management among farmers engaged in organic agriculture indicate that individuals who practice organic farming or are members of the organic farming group are the primary observers of the knowledge management aspect of farmers' knowledge seeking. Preservation of knowledge is committed to memory as opposed to being written down. Exchange and dissemination of knowledge There will be consultation, dialogue, and the sharing of expertise among networks, communities, and families.
2. The results of creating a knowledge management model for organic agriculture by producers indicate that the model coprises four distinct components and twenty-eigt indicators.
3. The assessment of the farmers' knowledge management approach for organic farming revealed that All things considered, there is a high degree of appropriateness (= 4.33) and possibilities (= 4.36).
