Application of Buddhadhamma to Enhance Public Services of the Takook Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province

Abstract

This research article has the objectives as follows: 1) To study the level of public services provided by the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province; 2) To compare the public services provided by the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province, categorized by personal factors and 3) To propose guidelines for applying Buddhist principles to promote public services of the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province. This is a mixed-methods study, The research instruments were quantitative and qualitative research, and the samples of this study were 374 people and 10 key informants. The research instruments used in this study include questionnaires and interviews. The statistics used to analyze the collected data were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The findings were, as follows:

1) Level of opinion: Opinions that affect the public services of the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province, are generally at a high level (   = 3.62, S.D. = 0.821)

2) The results of comparing the public services provided by the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province, classified by personal factors, found that gender, age, and monthly income did not show significant differences, while education level showed a significant difference.

3) Guidelines for applying Buddhist principles to promote public service by the Takuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province, found that in terms of planning, it is necessary to promote knowledge and instill faith in the work being done. In terms of plan implementation, there must be learning about being a volunteer, having a love for the work, and having a dedicated mindset. In terms of inspection, it is important to encourage personnel to be mindful and responsible, which will lead to being knowledgeable and meticulous. In terms of improvement, public service must be organized in order of priority, and missions should be carried out according to planned schedules.
