POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF THE PEOPLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LOCAL AREA, NONSOMBOON SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, SOENG SANG DISTRICT, NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCE

Abstract

      This research aimed to 1) study the level of political participation of the people in the development of the local area of ​​Non Sombun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng Sang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, 2) compare the political participation of the people in the development of the local area of ​​Non Sombun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng SangDistrict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, classified by personal factors, 3) propose a guideline to promote the political participation of the people in the development of the local area of ​​Non Sombun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng SangDistrict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province by using a mixed research method between quantitative research and qualitative research. The quantitative research used  362 people aged 18 years and over using a multi-stage sampling method.  A questionnaire was developed as a tool for collecting data. The questionnaire was both closed-ended and open-ended. The reliability of the quantitative questionnaire was 0.947. Hypotheses were tested by t-testing, F-test, and one-way analysis of variance. In cases where differences were found to be statistically significant at the 0.05 level, the differences were analyzed by the least significant difference method. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation (S.D.). As for the qualitative research By using in-depth interviews as a tool for collecting data, 10 people were interviewed using a specific selection method. The research results found that:

1. The public's political participation in local development in the area of ​​Non SombunSubdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng Sang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, as a whole, had an average of a high level ( = 3.80).
2. The results of the comparison of the level of political participation of the public in local development in the area of ​​Non Sombun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng SangDistrict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, classified by personal status, including gender, age, occupation, education level, and monthly income, found that people with different genders, ages, education levels, and monthly incomes had different levels of political participation in local development overall, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level.

3) Guidelines for promoting political participation of the public in local development in the area of ​​Non Sombun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Soeng SangDistrict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province Relevant agencies in the area must give importance and provide knowledge to the public and promote participation in various aspects in order to help strengthen local people and promote sustainable local development.
