Abstract

The research entitled “Academic Administration in the 21st Century According to the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada 4) of Administrators in Phrapariyattidhamma Schools, General Education Division, Amnat Charoen Province” aimed to: 1) study the conditions of academic administration in the 21st century, 2) study the methods of academic administration according to the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada 4), and 3) propose guidelines for academic administration according to the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada 4). This research employed a mixed-methods research design. The quantitative sample consisted of 32 administrators and teachers. The research instrument was a five-level rating scale questionnaire with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.96. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. For the qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 5 key informants. The data were analyzed by interpretive content analysis. In addition, the proposed guidelines were evaluated by 5 experts, and the statistics used for the evaluation were the mean and standard deviation.

The research findings were as follows.

1) The overall condition of academic administration in the 21st century was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest mean was learning process development, followed by media and technology utilization, measurement and evaluation, curriculum development, and educational supervision, respectively.

2) Regarding the methods of academic administration according to the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada), it was found that the Dhamma principles were concretely applied including: “Chanda” (aspiration) appeared in creating internal motivation and love for the profession among personnel; “Viriya” (effort) appeared in driving innovation and continuous teacher development; “Citta” (focused mind) was expressed through collegial supervision that fostered cooperation within the organization; and “Vimamsa” (investigation) appeared in the process of using empirical data and learning achievement as the basis for decision-making and work improvement.

3) The guidelines for academic administration in the 21st century, according to the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipada 4) of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools, General Education Division, Amnat Charoen Province, consisted of three approaches: 1. Integrated administration based on Chanda–Viriya to enhance Active Learning by creating internal motivation and encouraging commitment to learner development; 2. The establishment of a collegial supervision system based on Citta to promote cooperation and support in work performance; and 3. The advancement of innovation and technology based on Vimamsa through the use of empirical data for decision-making in educational media and technology management. These three approaches integrated moral principles with systematic administration to promote effective and sustainable academic administration.
