PREPARATION TO ENTER THE ELDERLY SOCIETY IN MUANG DISTRICT, PHITSANULOK PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the preparation to enter the elderly society of Muang District, Phitsanulok Province, to compare the factors towards the preparation to enter the elderly society, and to study the model to support the public officers who will enter the elderly society.  It is a mixed method: quantitative and qualitative research.  The samples for the quantitative one comprised of 400 participants and for the qualitative one was 15 participants.  The data were collected by using questionnaire and interview and analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analyses: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation,   t-test and F-test.  The findings were as follows: The preparation to enter the elderly society in Muang District, Phitsanulok Province overall was at a moderate level; the highest mean was the right for state Social Welfare followed by the housing, environment, finance, mentality and physical facets respectively with statistically significantly different at 0.5.  The suggestion for the preparation to enter the elderly society in Muang District, Phitsanulok Province were as follows: the money should be administered in the form of saving, the public officers should be allowed to build their own homes in stead of renting the house.  The design for elderly housing should be made.  Above all they should often attend the merit making, listen to the sermons, always be cheerful, do appropriate exercise, intake balanced diet.
