Abstract

This book review examines “In this COVID-19 situation, Bodhipakkha: You can chant, but if you use it, it is even better” by Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya (P. A. Payutto). The book is organized into three parts: faith as a foundation for social unity and encouragement; wisdom for understanding and applying the Seven Factors of Enlightenment; and practice for integrating them into daily life and work. It explains the seven factors as qualities that cultivate mindfulness, investigation of Dhamma, energy, joy, tranquility, concentration, and equanimity. The review emphasizes that chanting should be accompanied by understanding and actual practice so that the teaching can strengthen morale, improve quality of life, and support a reasoned and sustainable response to the COVID-19 crisis.
