THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH READING COMPREHENSION SKILL EXERCISES BY USING MURDOCH INTEGRATED APPROACH FOR 6th GRADE STUDENTS AT WATKLANGWONGMANEE SCHOOL

Abstract

          The purposes of the research were to: 1) create and develop the efficiency of the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students which the researcher established based on the criterion 75/75 2) to compare the achievement in the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students 3) To measure satisfaction after using the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students. The samples were 17 grade 6th students of Watklangwongmanee School who were studying in the second semester, academic year 2021. The samples were selected by Purposive Sampling. The research tools were 1) the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students 2) the lesson plans which It consists of 3 units of lessons. 3) the English reading skills test, 1 issue per lesson, to measure English reading skills before and after using the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students, multiple choice, type, 4 options, total of 30 questions4) Questionnaire of students' opinions on the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students.

          The findings of the research indicated that:

1. English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students created was of the most suitable quality. The efficiency was 75.53/76.08.


2. The English learning achievement of 6th grade student after using the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students was higher than before using with the statistical significance at the .05 level and


3. students’ satisfaction with the English Reading Comprehension Skill Exercises by using Murdoch Integrated Approach for 6th grade students was at the high level. The mean score was 3.85, the standard deviation was 0.53.
