The Development of an Innovation for Reading the Isan Literature "Khulu - Nang Ua" for the Third-Year Primary School Students at Ban Khok Muang School

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: (1) to develop an innovation for reading the Isan literature "Khulu - Nang Ua" for the third-year primary school students that meets the efficiency criterion of 80/80; (2) to compare the learning outcomes of students before and after using this innovation; and (3) to study the students' satisfaction with the innovation. The sample consisted of 8 third-year primary school students students from Ban Khok Muang School, Srisuk Subdistrict, Sichomphu District, Khon Kaen Province, under the jurisdiction of the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 5, during the second semester of the 2566 academic year (2023). The research tools included: (1) a learning management plan for reading the Isan literature "Khulu - Nang Ua," which consisted of 7 plans, each taught for 1 hour; (2) a set of 7 exercises designed to practice reading the Isan literature "Khulu - Nang Ua"; and (3) a learning achievement test consisting of 30 items, of which 20 were selected for actual use. The data were analyzed using basic statistics such as percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as t-tests for dependent samples. The research results were as follows: 1) The learning management plan for reading the Isan literature "Khulu - Nang Ua" was found to be effective, with an efficiency score of 85.23/82.50, exceeding the set criterion of 80/80. 2) The learning outcomes of Grade 3 students who used the reading exercises showed significant improvement after learning, with statistical significance at the .05 level. 3) The students demonstrated a high level of satisfaction with the learning process using the reading exercises for the Isan literature "Khulu - Nang Ua.
