Problem-Based Learning on Rights and Freedoms to Develop Cyberbullying Coping Skills of Primary 5 Students at Baan Rai Networking Schools

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to 1) examine the current situation and challenges in learning management regarding rights and freedoms of primary 5 students at Baan Rai networking schools, and 2) develop problem-based learning on rights and freedoms to develop cyberbullying coping skills of primary 5 students. The research was conducted in three schools within the Baan Rai cluster, Bang Krathum District, Phitsanulok Province, with the main research site being Prachasan Witthaya School. The study involved 27 students and 2 social studies teachers, totaling 29 participants. The research tools included. 1) in-depth interview questions designed for the teachers, 2) focus group discussion guidelines, 3) the learning activity titled “Stop Cyberbullying,” and 4) Participation observation methods. The findings revealed that problem-based learning on rights and freedoms to develop cyberbullying coping skills of primary 5 students. effectively promoted the development of students' skills in confronting cyberbullying. Students demonstrated an enhanced understanding of their own rights and those of others, recognized the importance of respecting these rights, and gained valuable strategies for protecting themselves from bullying, especially in the digital environment. Furthermore, the students exhibited empathy toward victims and improved their ability to manage emotions positively, allowing them to navigate challenging situations with greater resilience.
