Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) the current state and problems of using information technology for school administration in the 21st century, and 2) identify guidelines for developing of information technology for school administration in the 21st century in the Phop Phra-Vale-Ruam Thai school group under the Tak primary educational service area office 2. A mixed-methods research approach was used, divided into two stages. The population consisted of 306 school administrators and teachers in the Phop Phra-Vale-Ruam Thai school group and 9 experts. Data were collected using questionnaires and structured interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results showed that: The overall state of using information technology was at a high level, with a high mean score. Personnel administration had the highest level, followed by academic administration, budget administration, and general administration, which had the lowest levels. Problems in using information technology included setting academic goals in the annual operational plan, using personnel skills and knowledge to develop structures and assign duties and responsibilities, promoting research to solve student problems and professional advancement, and accurately reporting student learning outcomes to parents. The development of information technology should include a master plan for information technology for learning through curriculum reform towards digitalization, the use of information systems to monitor, track, and report budget expenditures with an emphasis on transparency and accountability through electronic media, support for personnel to develop digital self-development plans focusing on innovation to improve teaching and learning, and the use of modern communication platforms to connect and build relationships with parents and the community.
