Development of Kids Create BKK City Activity Package through Collaborative Action Practices to Enhance Preschool Children’s Collaborative Skills

The objectives of this research were to: 1) develop the “Kids Create BKK City” Activity Package through collaborative action practices to promote collaborative skills among preschool children; and 2) examine the effects of implementing the activity package. The sample consisted of 20 preschool children aged 3–4 years in Kindergarten Year 1, Room 2, at Samsennok (Pracharat Anukul) School, during the second semester of the 2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The research was conducted in three phases: studying guidelines for activity package development, designing learning activities to support its implementation, and examining the success conditions of the activity package. The research instruments included the developed activity package and an assessment form for preschool children’s collaborative skills. The findings revealed that the activity package was designed based on phenomenon-based learning, urban elements, play-based learning, the use of artificial intelligence for early childhood learning, and constructive play with open-ended materials. It aimed to promote four dimensions of collaborative skills: negotiation, adherence to agreements, goal-oriented collaboration, and collaborative learning with consideration for others. The package consisted of seven supporting components including a storybook series, a simulated community map, a simulated Bangkok city map, a learning planning sheet, a super construction play box, spark-curiosity pictures, and learning guide signs. After implementation, preschool children’s overall collaborative skills and each individual dimension were significantly higher than before the experiment at the .05 level. In conclusion, the “Kids Create BKK City” Activity Package through collaborative action practices effectively promoted preschool children’s collaborative skills by encouraging them to explore questions, solve problems, and learn collaboratively with consideration for others.
