Innovation in Reading Comprehension of Khlong Lokka Niti Based on the Four Iddhipāda Principles for Matthayomsuksa 1 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to develop a reading comprehension package for Klong Lokka-Nit (Ways of Life) based on the Four Foundations for Accomplishment for Matthayomsuksa 1 students and to compare the learning achievement of students using the reading comprehension package for Klong Lokka-Nit based on the Four Foundations for Accomplishment to determine whether it meets the efficiency criterion of 80/80. The sample group consisted of 30 Matthayomsuksa 1 students at Phukeaw School, under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Chaiyaphum. The research instruments included the reading comprehension package for Klong Lokka-Nit based on the Four Foundations for Accomplishment, consisting of six lesson plans, each lasting 2 hours, totaling 12 hours of instruction, and a 30-item multiple-choice test assessing students' learning achievement. The statistical methods used in this study were mean, standard deviation, and the dependent t-test. The findings revealed that the efficiency of the reading comprehension package for Klong Lokka-Nit based on the Four Foundations for Accomplishment was E1/E2 = 80.10/87.05, which exceeded the 80/80 efficiency criterion. Additionally, a comparison of pre-test and post-test scores showed that students’ post-test scores were significantly higher than their pre-test scores at the 0.05 significance level.
