The development of Mathematics learning achievement through electronic media for Grade 6 students of Ban Nong Khla School

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of electronic media used for teaching and learning to enhance Mathematics achievement on the topic of triangles, and 2) to compare the Mathematics achievement of Grade 6 students on the topic of triangles before and after learning with electronic media at Ban Nong Khla School. The research sample consisted of 17 Grade 6 students from Ban Nong Khla School in the second semester of academic year 2023. The sample group of students were selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments included 1) electronic media on the topic of triangles 2) lesson plans for teaching Mathematics on triangles using the electronic media and 3) Mathematics learning achievement tests. The data was analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the electronic media on triangles according to the 70/70 criteria, using mean and standard deviation. The achievement before and after learning using the electronic media on triangles was analyzed using mean and standard deviation, and the comparison of pre-test and post-test achievement was conducted using a dependent sample t-test. The research results showed that 1) The electronic media on triangles had an effectiveness ratio (E1/E2) of 77.60/70.50, the criteria 70/70. 2) The comparison of Mathematics achievement on the topic of triangles among Grade 6 students at Ban Nong Khla School before and after learning with the electronic media showed a statistically significant improvement at the .05 level (t = 26.40, Sig. = <.001), with the post-test mean score of 15.53 ( = 15.53, S.D. = 2.71) and the pre-test mean score of 8.41 ( = 8.41, S.D. = 2.15).
